Training Programmes
The Central Electronics Centre (CEC) offers a comprehensive portfolio of training programmes designed to address the evolving needs of industry professionals, service engineers, technical educators, and young technicians in the field of electronics and instrumentation. With a commitment to academic rigour and practical relevance, these programmes are structured to impart hands-on experience and technical competence through a blend of classroom instruction, laboratory sessions, simulation-based learning, and application-oriented projects.
CEC’s training programmes are structured to deliver both conceptual clarity and practical competence in electronic systems and instrumentation.
Dual Training, a flagship offering, integrates theoretical learning with practical training in a seamless manner. Participants engage in classroom discussions, demonstrations, mini-projects, and on-the-job training, supported by facilities such as analog trainer kits and curated training modules. This model ensures a holistic understanding of electronic systems and instrumentation practices.
Long-Term Programs span two years and are designed for early-career technicians. These programmes aim to build a strong foundational skill set and operational confidence in handling diverse electronic systems, supported by digital trainer kits and orientation support.
Short-Term Courses cater specifically to practising service engineers seeking targeted upskilling in electronic instrumentation. Through microcomputer trainer systems and focused instruction, these courses provide intensive technical exposure over a short duration.
Tailor-Made Courses re designed in consultation with industry partners to meet the specific technical training needs of their personnel. These custom programmes, supported by microprocessor kits, offer flexibility in content and delivery to align with organizational goals.
Intensive Refresher Courses focus on knowledge enhancement for field service personnel. By revisiting core concepts and introducing the latest advancements, these courses ensure technical currency and improved field performance, facilitated by PLC trainer kits.
Orientation Programs serve as foundational modules for non-electronic personnel engaging in instrumentation or measurement functions. These are structured to deliver basic concepts in a simplified, practical manner using power electronics trainer kits and workshop modules.
Human Resource Development Programs address specialized topics such as quality standards, calibration compliance, and technical process enhancement. These short-duration courses are tailored to the requirements of internal teams at IIT Madras and may be extended to external industries on a chargeable basis. Training systems include AC/DC drives, transducers, process control kits, fibre optics trainers, and multimedia tools such as video projection and e-lessons.
CEC’s training programmes are anchored in its decades-long engagement with academic and industrial communities, ensuring that participants not only learn but also build competence to meet real-world challenges in electronic systems.
