The Central Electronics Centre (CEC) at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is a premier multidisciplinary technical facility, established to support advanced electronics innovation, precision testing, calibration, and systems maintenance. With a strong foundation in servicing sophisticated electronic instrumentation, CEC has evolved into a comprehensive platform offering end-to-end support across the entire electronics value chain.

CEC’s core capabilities span the repair and restoration of complex equipment, NABL-traceable electro-technical and thermal calibration, product and component testing as per IS/IEC/ISO standards, SMT fabrication for prototype development, and photometric, EMI/EMC, and environmental testing.

The Centre also houses advanced infrastructure for training and capacity building, offering long-term, short-term, and tailor-made programmes for service personnel and engineers.
