Thermal Calibration
The Thermal Calibration Division at the Central Electronics Centre (CEC), IIT Madras, delivers traceable, high-precision calibration services for temperature measurement and control equipment across diverse industrial and research applications. CEC’s thermal calibration capabilities are structured across three modes Sensor with/without indicator, Temperature sources(single point), and temperature mapping.
Using state-of-the-art dry block calibrators, super DAQ systems, and reference probes like PRTs and R-type thermocouples, the centre supports across a range of –25 °C to 1200 °C. These services cover a broad variety of sensor types including thermocouples (B, E, J, K, N, R, S, T) and RTDs (Pt100 385), as well as temperature indicators, controllers, DAQs, ovens, and baths.
CEC’s thermal calibration services deliver precision up to ±0.14 °C, ensuring temperature sensors and control systems perform with confidence across –25 °C to 1200 °C.
Multi-point and multi-position measurements are conducted to evaluate uniformity and stability, depending on range and configuration. The methods and references used comply with established national and international calibration standards.
